If approved, each property owner within the PVPUSD (Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District) will pay $38 per $100K of assessed value (assessed value is often lower than your property's current market value); this is in addition to the existing four PVPUSD taxes for Measures K, R, S and M. The new Bond assessment will include about $400 million in expenditures and another $400 million in interest for a total of about $800 million to be collected over as much as 38 years. The Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) began its work this past Spring to update the costs of the 2017 Facilities Master Plan and to prioritize facilities projects related to “safety, security and modernization” according to the PVPUSD, although the Citizens for Responsible Education Spending disputes that description (asserting that less than $80 million of the $400 million in spending (not including the $400 million in interest) is for “safety, security and modernization”. The FAC presented its report to the Board of Education October 10, 2019, and included with that report updated costing information from Cumming USA (view report).  The Board of Education further considered the FAC information at its meeting on October 24, 2019 resulting in a final list of prioritized projects

PVrrg takes no position on the measure, but is pleased to try to present information from both sides of the issue so you can make a more informed decision; however, we cannot confirm the statements by others on the links on this page (whether from the pvpusd or either the “Yes” or “no” sides).
