WHO ARE WE?
Palos Verdes Residents for Responsible Government (PVrrg) is a group of highly committed citizens who identify important issues confronting the City of Palos Verdes Estates.
Our Steering Committee:
Rose was born in China and lived in East Asia and the Middle East until she moved to PVE in 1974. She was raised in a family that was deeply involved in the work of local, national, and international governments during times of peace as well as war. She learned
firsthand what it is like to be stripped off one’s rights, and realized that all members of the community must contribute or else they risk losing their rights. Rose received a B.A. in mathematics and a M.S. in computer science from Penn State University. She had careers in computer science, business, spiritual retreat work, and personal counseling.
A native New Englander, Kate has lived in PVE since 1989 with her husband Richard, a local attorney. She earned a BA in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College in MA and an MBA from Columbia Business School in NY. Their three, now-grown daughters all attended PV schools. Kate began her career at Deloitte in New York City and still holds an active CPA license. She has worked for over 30 years in senior financial executive roles, including as CFO and Chief Audit Executive of companies ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 200. Currently, she has her own consulting practice, KNG Consulting LLC, specializing in interim CFO and Internal Audit Executive assignments. Kate has extensive experience in financial planning and budgeting as well as in implementation of cost saving operational improvements. She has also led multiple governance, risk and compliance programs and projects in complex organizations. A newly appointed member of the PVE Finance Advisory Committee, Kate also volunteers on finance and audit committees of other non-profit organizations. Her favorite downtime activities include travel, learning foreign languages, playing piano and singing.
