FOR PALOS VERDES ESTATES treasurer:
Victoria Lozzi
I’m Victoria Lozzi and I am running for City Treasurer. As an experienced finance professional, I will work to be a valuable, consultative resource to our City Council, Finance Director and staff. I bring a new, fresh perspective to the City Treasurer position and to the City of Palos Verdes Estates. I am committed to proper process and transparency, and I am not afraid to speak up if that is not happening. Elected leaders and City staff have an obligation to put the needs of the residents first and guard against potential conflicts of interest, real or perceived.
I would like to see an end to the long-standing tradition of the Treasurer role being filled by someone coming off of City Council – there has not been an election in many, many years. The Treasurer is supposed to be autonomous from City Council and provide independent oversight; ex-City Council members bring a preconceived agenda. There have been some difficult issues in our City over the past couple of years and the way some decisions have been made and then communicated to the residents has shaken their confidence in our leaders. We need that autonomy that the City Treasurer is supposed to have!
- The ONLY finance professional running for City Treasurer
- Senior banker at U.S. Bank – 28 years of corporate banking experience
- Proven financial experience serving on non-profit Boards
- National Charity League – Treasurer
- UC Berkeley Alumni Association Board of Directors – VP Finance
My banking career and Board experience have prepared me for this job, and I respectfully ask for your vote.
